The Centenary of Gallipoli

February 22nd, 2015

This year Australia commemorates 100 years since the landing of the Australian troops at Anzac Cove on April 25th 1915. The Society gained a grant to have photographs of the fallen from the former Woorayl Shire printed and mounted. These will form the main part of an exhibition to be set up for
Anzac Day 2015. Lyn Skillern has been writing articles for local magazines, 3MFM radio and newspapers and these will appear in the newsletter or on this site in the future.

Lyn will be the speaker at the Leongatha Anzac Day service . She is also writing the stories of the fallen who have their names on
the Leongatha Memorial Hall Black Marble Honor Roll (the Woorayl Shire War Memorial) and these will be placed on this website when the stories are completed. There are over 150 stories to be told. The Society is still searching for photographs of those who lost their lives.
