The Chillingworth Family

Dennis came to Australia at the age of 18
He had two brothers in the AIF and all three went to Gallipoli in the first contingent. Dennis was killed in action in France and Howard went through the whole campaign and was decorated for gallantry in the field. Dennis is listed as being from Leongatha. Three other brothers served in the English forces and one was killed in action. He was Ernest who was in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment and was killed on 17/8/17 and is buried at Tyne Cot Cemetery.

Therefore three sons out of six died as a result of this war.

. � In June 1918 a Miss price of Abbotsford wrote to the army stating that she is his cousin and nearest relative and that she should receive his effects. They have no address for his father.

The Public Trustees of NSW wrote asking for a death certificate so they can deal with his will. They asked for any details of next of kin.
In 1932 Howard asked for a photograph of his brother�s grave.
