The Chillingsworth Family

Leonard Chillingsworth had two brothers in the AIF and all three went to Gallipoli in the first contingent. Dennis was killed in action in France and Howard went through the whole campaign and was decorated for gallantry in the field. Dennis is listed as being from Leongatha. Three other brothers served in the English forces and one was killed in action. He was Ernest who was in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment and was killed on 17/8/17 and is buried at Tyne Cot Cemetery.

Therefore three sons out of six died as a result of this war.
