The money matters have been settled (as she indicated in her letter) and his pay book was sent to the military barracks in Melbourne

10/8/20 Mrs. Statham wrote a letter stating that her husband has been dead for 20 years. She is the next of kin for both her sons and was asked if there were a closer relation. Meaning is their father still alive.

Winifred Mary Statham (sister) died on 18/12/1958 in North Carlton. The public trustees administered her estate. They asked for death certificates for her brothers. The public trustees were informed that the brothers died on active service in WW1. They were the sons of John Walford Statham and Mary Cavanagh
His brother George William Statham who was in the 59th Battalion AIF died on August 14th 1916.
