- On page 21 of his file is a letter from his sister asking about the medals of her two brothers as she is the eldest in the family. The other brother was Norman Henry Watkins, 9th Battalion, who also died. Another relation E J Watkins says he is the eldest in a letter on page 25. On page 26 Ada is told there is no medal for a sister only a mother or widow.
