PLACE & DATE OF DEATH:
Horace was so badly affected by the war, he was sent home in September 1917. He died in 1926 aged 38.

Horace is buried in the Leongatha Cemetery

MILITARY/OTHER HISTORY:
◈ 19/10/1914 He embarked Melbourne on HMAT Benalla
◈ 25/4/1915 He was at the Gallipoli landing with the 8th Battalion
◈ 17/7/1915 He was admitted to hospital with influenza
◈ 21/7/1915 He returned to Anzac but he was ill again and went to Lemnos
◈ 5/9/1915 He becomes a Lance Corporal
◈ 23/10/1915 He was sick in hospital
◈ 3/11/1915 He was moved to Mudros then left Mudros and went to England on the Aquitana
◈ 5/12/1915 He was admitted to the South General Hospital Egbaston Birmingham with jaundice and nervous breakdown
◈ 10/12/1915 He was discharged
◈ From January 1916 he continued to be ill in England
◈ 17/5/1916 Horace went to France where he got mumps and was admitted to hospital
◈ From February 1917 he was in and out of hospital
◈ He was admitted to Larkhill Hospital
◈ Finally in September 1917 Horace is sent home a victim of DAH, a serious heart problem
◈ He was granted a pension for his disability of 20/- a fortnight, his wife received 10/-. He was in Leongatha and she in Warrandyte
◈ Horace's name is on the White Marble Honour Roll in the Leongatha Memorial Hall
