◈ 17/6/1916 He had gastro-enteritis and went to Lark Hill in England
◈ 14/8/1916 He had severe gastro-enteritis, which lasted 14 days
◈ 12/9/1916 He was seriously ill with pleuro-pneumonia
◈ 30/10/1916 He died of illness
◈ Extensive report in his file on the pneumonia (pages 15–18) and a post-mortem (page 24)
◈ His effects consisted of: a razor strap, razor, shaving brush, pipes, handkerchiefs, small bag, notebook, tobacco pouch and letters
