He was buried in a cemetery south of Polygon Wood and has his name on the Menin Gate Memorial Ypres

He and his family lived in Dumbalk, Victoria

He attended Dumbalk East School

He is on the Meeniyan Honour Roll

26/7/15. George Henry Crole, dairy farmer of Dumbalk, gave his consent for his son to join the army. Mrs. Jemima Crole also wrote a consent note.

He was in the Dumbalk rifle club

1/9/15 Enlisted in Meeniyan

20/11/15 He embarked Melbourne on HMAT Commonwealth

24/2/16 He transferred to the 8th Battalion in Zeitoun Egypt

11/3/16 He was sick in hospital Serapaum

14/3/16 He has bronchial pneumonia

3/4/16 He joined the Anzac Police Corps in Tel el Kabir

6/6/16 He embarked Alexandria

13/6/16 He disembarked Marseilles

11/1/17 He was in the British Expeditionary Force in the 8th Battalion

20/9/17 He was missing in action. He was declared killed in action on that day by a court of enquiry held in July 1918.

12/6/1928 His mother applied for a pension in Mirboo North

He left his estate to his mother Mrs. Jemina Crole of Dumbalk but his insurance policy money to his father

His effects were a scarf, cameo pendant and chain, table centre, razor, 2 brushes, tin box belt.
